General Terms and Conditions (GTC)

1. Registration

Registration takes place via the registration or inquiry form on our website the-aimi.com. The number of participants is limited; registrations are considered in the order in which they are received.

2. Conclusion of Contract

No contract is concluded via the website. A registration or inquiry is non-binding. Once we receive it, we will contact you and submit a concrete offer. The contract is concluded when you accept this offer.

The course fees and payment terms stated in the offer are decisive.

3. Prices and Payment

For the AI Academy, the course fees are shown on the respective offer page. Services in the area of AI Trainings and AI @ Schools are quoted individually according to scope and needs. The applicable price will be clearly communicated to you before any binding confirmation.

The course fee is invoiced at the start of the course and is payable within 30 days of the invoice date.

The certificate of the AI Management Institute is issued only after payment has been received in full. In the event of late payment, we may suspend participation until payment is received; the obligation to pay the full course fee remains in force.

4. Cancellation by Participants

Cancellation must be communicated in writing (email is sufficient). The time of receipt by the AI Management Institute is decisive. In the event of cancellation, the following shares of the total course fee are owed:

• cancellation up to 30 days before the start of the course: 10 per cent of the course fee;
• cancellation up to 14 days before the start of the course: 50 per cent of the course fee;
• cancellation less than 14 days before the start of the course or after it has begun: the full course fee.

You are free to name a substitute person to take your place. In that case no cancellation costs apply.

5. Right of Withdrawal for Consumers

Consumers residing in the European Union have a statutory right of withdrawal of 14 days for contracts concluded at a distance. You may withdraw from the contract within this period without giving reasons. The period begins on the day the contract is concluded.

To exercise your right of withdrawal, you must inform us of your decision by means of a clear statement, for example by letter or email. Please address your withdrawal to: AI Management Institute (AIMI), Schulstrasse 29, 8050 Zurich, dom.moser@the-aimi.com. You may use the model withdrawal form below, but this is not mandatory. To meet the deadline, it is sufficient to send the withdrawal before the period expires.

In the event of an effective withdrawal, we will refund all payments already made without undue delay, at the latest within 14 days of receiving the withdrawal.

There is no right of withdrawal for companies and persons who conclude the contract for professional or commercial purposes.

If the service begins at your express request before the withdrawal period expires, the right of withdrawal lapses once we have fully provided the service. We obtain your express consent in advance and inform you that you lose your right of withdrawal once performance begins.

Where a participant has a right of withdrawal and exercises it within the deadline, the consequences of the withdrawal take precedence over the cancellation provisions under section 4. The graduated scale under section 4 does not apply in that case.

For participants residing in Switzerland there is no statutory right of withdrawal for distance contracts; the cancellation provisions under section 4 apply.

6. Cancellation or Postponement by the AI Management Institute

The AI Management Institute reserves the right to cancel a course if the number of participants is too low. We will inform you about whether the course will take place no later than one month before it starts.

If the AI Management Institute cancels, course fees already paid will be refunded in full or, on request, credited towards a later course. Further claims, for example for travel or rebooking costs, are excluded.

The AI Management Institute reserves the right to postpone individual course units if holding them becomes impossible, for example if lecturers are unavailable or rooms cannot be used. Any resulting costs incurred by participants will not be covered.

7. Content and Delivery

The AI Management Institute reserves the right to make changes to the programme, the schedule and the organisation, including the selection of lecturers, provided that the overall character of the course is maintained.

8. Intellectual Property

The rights to the course materials, in particular copyright, remain with the AI Management Institute or the respective lecturers. Any use beyond personal use within the course requires a separate agreement.

9. Confidentiality

During the courses, confidential information is exchanged between participants, lecturers and the AI Management Institute. Participants undertake to treat such information as confidential towards third parties. This obligation continues beyond the end of the course.

10. Liability and Insurance

To the extent permitted by law, the AI Management Institute (AIMI) is not liable for damages of a material or immaterial nature arising in connection with participation in our programmes, in particular not for slight negligence, indirect damages and consequential damages. Mandatory statutory liability, in particular for gross negligence and intent as well as for personal injury, is reserved.

Taking out any accident or liability insurance is the responsibility of the participants.

11. Data Protection

The processing of personal data is governed by our privacy policy.

12. Applicable Law and Place of Jurisdiction

Swiss law applies. To the extent permitted by law, the exclusive place of jurisdiction for all disputes arising from or in connection with these terms and conditions is Zurich, Switzerland.

Mandatory places of jurisdiction in favour of consumers are reserved.

13. Severability and Amendments

Should individual provisions of these terms and conditions be ineffective or invalid, the validity of the remaining provisions remains unaffected. The ineffective provision will be replaced by a provision that comes as close as possible to the intended purpose.

The AI Management Institute may amend these terms and conditions at any time. The version published at the time of registration applies in each case.
